When watching pour-over, the stream of water is often the first thing to catch your eye. The gooseneck kettle tilts; water meets the dripper; coffee gathers in the glass server below.
The photograph holds that movement halfway through. Cups, dripper and kettle each have their place, giving the eye a simple path to follow from preparation to the cup.
Notice the tools
The gooseneck kettle pours the water. The dripper holds the filter and ground coffee, and the server collects the brew. A few clearly defined objects form the centre of the scene.
Follow the movement
From spout to dripper to glass server, the water connects the separate objects. There is no need to memorise a recipe to appreciate the quiet continuity of this movement.
